Happy Easter!

Another Easter has passed. The kids are growing up. We are all getting a little bit older. I’m transitioning into a new chapter. I’ll be leaving Apple on April 21st. I am both sad and excited. While I will miss the many creative and smart people I partnered with, I harbor great optimism for where this journey will take me next. I’ve been afforded some time to breathe and revisit my children’s picture books and other young adult stories. Re-entering those worlds is a welcome change. The characters and landscapes bring me so much joy and grounding. I am grateful.

In other news, I’ve been doing a fair bit of self reflection and work. I am a firm believer that mental wellness is as important as physical wellness and I’m focusing on areas I’ve either neglected or squashed, like self-care and setting boundaries. I’ve started therapy (a new adventure for me) and have been listening to The Body Keeps The Score audiobook, by Bessel A van den Kolk. I’ve also started following Patrick Teahan, Jay Reid, Doctor Ramani, Les Carter, and Emma over at Therapy in a Nutshell. All are wonderful and I’ve learned so much. While my situation does not align exactly to the topics and models these folks cover, I have adopted many strategies to help me with my boundary setting and self-care approaches.

A quick side note… The Body Keeps The Score book is exceptional, but also pretty heavy at times, so do take care if you decide to jump on into that one.
